Alaska Cruise from Seattle, Jun 2019

Video Clips

Occasionally on our trip I tried to take some videos with my phone or with the Nikon while it was on the tripod and the boat was moving. These are the ones I wanted to share.

Cruising Up to Juneau

Tue, June 11th - Watching a waterfall go by from our balcony on our way up to Juneau. The camera was on the tripod so the bobbing of the horizon was due to the subtle rocking of the ship, which was then exaggerated by the zoom. [MP4 video, 720p, 1:04s]

Nugget Falls at Mendenhall Glacier

Tue, June 11th - I hiked out to Nugget falls in the rain at Mendenhall Glacier. This first video is from an overlook at the falls. [MP4 video, 720p, 0:21s]

Nugget Falls

Tue, June 11th - For the second video I was in front of the falls. I could feel the wind pushed down by the falls and across the gravel bank where I was standing. You can really hear it on the phone video too. [MP4 video, 720p, 0:21s]

Calving Ice on Hubbard Glacier

Wed, June 12th - This is an animated GIF image at 1080p of a 150-ish foot tall piece of ice that calved off of Hubbard Glacier while the tour boat was watching near by.

Panning Across Hubbard Glacier

Wed, June 12th - I went up to deck 10 with some other folks and let the camera pan across the face of Hubbard Glacier while the ship was rotating. [MP4 video, 720p, 1:28s]

Big Pod of Dolphins

Fri, June 14th - After dinner on Friday, Kellie and I sat on the Lido deck and watched for wildlife passing by in the water. We saw a few small pods of dolphins and this one really big pod with a few dozen of them in it. [MP4 video, 720p, 0:36s]
