Animal Kingdom Lodge

We arrived late on Tuesday, Oct 19th for a one-night stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. They bumped our standard view room up to a plains view, room 2550, so we got to see some animals when we got up. We had dinner at Jiko and breakfast at Mara before we headed out the next day.

Animal Kingdom Day

We spent Wednesday morning and afternoon in the Animal Kingdom. Lunch at the Flametree barbecue was good. Mostly we watched the shows and stayed for the parade.

Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade in AK

The parade was neat. We staked out a bench near the main entrance around 2:45 for the 4:00 parade. It got crowded around us, but we had a good view and a quick exit once the parade was over.

Boardwalk Area at Night

The first couple shots are from our room, number 5020, the night we arrived. Our standard view room was bumped to a pool view, which was very pretty but a long walk back to the elevators. On Thursday night I stayed out with my camera and played with some night shots around the Boardwalk lagoon.

Epcot Treasures of the World Showcase Tour

We spent Thursday morning on a pre-arranged tour of the World showcase. It was fun, and rather interesting, but a long 3.5 hours mostly on our feet. By the end we were ready for an early visit back to the room for a rest.

Magic Kingdom Day

Friday morning we had an early (8:05) seating at the Crystal Palace for breakfast. It's a character buffet, so we were visited by Eeyore and Tigger. Friday night we also had a seating at the California Grill on top of the Contemporary Hotel. Yummy!

Disney MGM Studios Day

Sunday was our MGM Studios day. We arrived a bit late in the morning and rode the roller coaster before our noon seating at the '50s Prime Time Cafe. The cafe has a neat 50's theme and good food.

Miscellaneous Pics

These are the leftover Boardwalk and Epcot photos that didn't fit in anywhere else. Monday was another Epcot day for us, ending with dinner at Alfredo's restaurant in Italy.

GPS Tracks

I brought a small personal GPS receiver with me and tracked our flight down as well as some points of interest around the parks. The receiver doesn't work too well for walking around the parks because it usually lost signal going in and out of buildings. But, it was very good for driving around and locating the rental car in the huge parking lots.
